Sonnet 3 ~ Facing the Man in the Mirror

Sonnet 3 ~ Facing the Man in the Mirror

You there, the man in the mirror, speak to your reflection.

The time is at hand to create beauty in one’s own image;

For any haste risks the extension of your legacy,

depriving the world and confidante lover of neonate provenience.

For where is she, but in plain view; fair maiden of pure enveloped womb

who would not deny you, and yields prevailing admiration of your true integrity and ambition?

Who is oneself to stifle this reverie and think so highly of himself

alone eliminating the very being of his own existence.

You were fabricated of your mother’s love and reflection, as she a reflection of you

In you, she celebrates the beauty of youth’s delight

So it is for you, to relish in youths reflection inspired in your own children’s laughter and light.

Amidst looking into the face of father time himself.

If thou chooses to relinquish this bequest, be remembered no more,

The endless night accompanied by empty room and tempered glass.
