Sonnet 21 ~ Priceless
vous êtes simplement beau
I, unlike any other prior, am poet non-inspired by good looks and aires;
After all… good looks always seem so plain…
I refuse to indulge your ego to lift you beyond universal realms,
Such others may compare you to everything beautiful…
As if all things bright were beautiful…
The very brightest star in the universe,
As spring’s first tulip were the most bountiful bloom
Or the most precious gems washed along shore following the storm.
Let me confess… my love for you is pure… and I only write truth,
Believe in me; the obvious… when I say, you are simply beautiful.
Not so much as Godly light; but beautiful individuality abounds
It is not necessary to emit tired words or visit inadequate clichés.
As idle talk, pretentious praise and erroneous gossip alike are meaningless;
No haste; as nothing has a price among the midst of you and I.
