Sonnet 23 ~ My Heart Sings in Silent Note
un acteur nerveux sur l’étape centrale
Just as an ill-prepared actor standing center stage,
overcome with fear and loss of expression,
or like a disorientated wild creature,
who's cupidity weakens the heart;
so I, apprehensive and feeble to declare
the things you ought to; should, hear mon amore,
love reaching new-fangled importance appearing to fester
bamboozled by my clouded understanding.
Oh, let my verse be the messenger,
speaking from the depths of my heart
become thy voice and plead for love's divine affirmation
is greater song and stance than my voice alone can declare.
Oh, that you can read these silent notes, lines and chords that go unexpressed!
That love endow predilection to hear with your eyes and read between the lines.
