Sonnet 7 ~ Lonely Tides at Sunset

Sonnet 7 ~ Lonely Tides at Sunset

Upon sunrise,

We awaken and welcome

A brand new day,

For the sunshine is a source of greatest love;

Heavenly light stretches across the sky, from dusk till dawn it climbs onward,

As a young man’s vigor in the beauty of life’s prime.

Brothers and sisters continuously seek reverence in basking in the glory.

Celebrating ascension and day’s great solstice;

Until lengths reach summit’s great grasp, and grows weary

Succumbing to the shadows of night’s great tide, falls and fades,

So too, the submissive eyes and scattered attentions of man

Turning anew and looking onward in other directions:

As it will be with you, as time encrypts upon you,

You too will face night’s great tide, forever capturing your legacy with its merciless undertow, unless a child is born.
